An Adobe New Years Eve Cabaret

Join us for a night of Broadway standards, as we raise funds for your community theater!

This black-tie-optional affair includes hors d'oeuvres provided by Scott Sharot, drinks (with/without alcohol), and a dazzling performance by two locally loved artists: Lorri Layle Oliver and Philip J. Shortell (accompanied by pianist Raul Manjarrez). Doors open: 5:15 PM Silent Auction: 5:15-7:00PM Music: 6:00-8:00 Bids for silent auction will end after intermission. $50 includes food, drink, and admission for show.

Enjoy a dazzling performance by two of Albuquerque's best!

Lorri Layle Oliver and Philip J. Shortell have delighted NM audiences with their acting and singing for more than a decade. Their joint efforts at The Adobe Theater have included All My Sons, The Wait, The Women of Lockerbie and the enormously received production of Souvenir which detailed in acting and music the lives of the real-life personality, Florence Foster Jenkins, and her accompanist, Cosme McMoon, which peaked in a tempestuous sold-out performance at New York City's famed Carnegie Hall. They have also appeared together in The Albuquerque Little Theater's production of It's a Wonderful Life and The Vortex Theater's production of Death of a Salesman in which The Albuquerque Journal lauded them as best female and male performances of the year and the overall production as the best of the year.

Separate favorite theater roles for Lorri include, Sylvia in The Women - Adobe; M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias - ALT; Dr. Emma Brookner in The Normal Heart - Santa Fe Playhouse; Marlafaye in The Savannah Sipping Society - Adobe; Elvira in Blythe Spirit - Adobe; Golde in Fiddler on the Roof - Landmark Musicals; Queen Elizabeth in Richard III - The Vortex; Josie in A Moon for the Misbegotten -The Adobe.

Separate favorite theater roles for Phil include, President Hockstader in The Best Man, - Adobe, Da in Da - West End Productions, Hickey in The Iceman Cometh - The Vortex, Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors - The Aux Dog, Ephraim (the burlesque Top Banana) in The Nance - The Vortex, Potter in It’s a Wonderful Life - ALT. Multiple Roles in All is Calm - Mother Road.

Both Lorri and Phil are proud members of The Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and have been seen in numerous TV shows and feature films shot in NM.

6:00pm-Your favorite Broadway tunes will be sung by Lorri Layle Oliver and Philip J. Shortell accompanied by Raul Manjarrez on the piano...

Spanning the Broadway Musical legacy from the 1920's to the present, our stars will delight you with their vocal renditions of both solos and duets.

6:45pm- A brief break will allow you to refresh your drinks and food and follow up on your silent auction bids...

Besides the champagne and "goodies", you will have a chance to refine your bid(s) on the myriad items for auction.

7:45pm- The music concludes and the winning bids announced...
